CRITERIA FOR PUBLISHING IN THE TRIBUNE SECTION
WEBSITE RIPD
The Tribune Section of the Ibero-American Network of Data Protection (RIPD)´s website constitutes a space where we will publish those opinion articles and research projects that the members and representatives from the institutions that make up the RIPD as well as experts linked to personal data protection deem appropriate and send to the Networks Permanent Secretariat (located at the Spanish Data Protection Agency).
General Criteria:
-
Communications will take place through electronic mails to the following address:
secretaria.ripd@agpd.es
-
The articles must be no longer than fours pages (size DIN A4).
-
“Exceptionally, the Editorial Committee may consider the publication of certain articles that exceed the established limits and criteria”.
-
Published texts will be opinion articles from the authors themselves.
-
Articles received will be published in the three official languages of the RIPD´s webpage: Spanish, English and Portuguese (1).
-
The ultimate liability, for the contents of each article, obviously, lies with its author.
Selection of Articles:
-
Members of the Permanent Secretariat, together with representatives from the Federal Institute of Access to Public Information (IFAI) will determine, on a case-by-case basis, the texts that will finally be published.
-
It is possible that not all articles sent will be published.
-
Articles will be published as soon as possible since their reception, although it will depend on the workload of the Permanent Secretariat and IFAI, who are in charge of deciding whether the articles received will be published or not.
Technical requirements:
-
They must be presented in digital format, not on paper. Said digital format may be in any standard word processor, although we suggest Word for Windows.
-
Dont forget to send the following personal information:
-
a. Names and Surnames of the author (s).
-
b. Institutions that he/she represents.
-
c. E-mail address (and/or Home Page) of the author (s)
-
d. Country of residence of the author (s).
-
With respect to footnotes, bear in mind that most of the current word processors support the automatic inclusion of the same. However, due to technical reasons, we prefer you not to use this option. Please proceed as follows: Right after the word that requires the footnote, or quote, or comment, write the reference number in parenthesis (correlative in the event that more than one is needed) with the same text format and include the corresponding notes at the end of the piece, assigning the same numbers.
-
Bibliography must be included at the end of the piece, following the footnotes.
Suggestions for the editing of the piece:
While editing the file with the article, we suggest the following criteria:
-
Dont use several font types. Stick to one (preferably Arial), with two or three font sizes (for the text, titles and subtitles). Use bold letters for underlining and italics and quotation marks for quotes.
-
Do not over-use tabs and use a single space as the format, since it reduces the size of the file.
Personal Data Protection:
Personal data provided though the sending of an article will be registered with the file from the Spanish Data Protection Agency "Ibero-American Network", for the purpose of managing said publications and to contact their authors if necessary. You may exercise your right to access, rectify, cancel or oppose the data at any time, by requesting it in writing, accompanied by a copy of an official identification document, addressed to the Spanish Data Protection Agency or Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, Secretaría General, C/ Jorge Juan nº 6, 28001 Madrid.
Notes:
(1) This does not exclude the possibility that, in certain cases, members of the Permanent Secretariat of the RIPD may outsource the translation of certain material to either language.
