BODIES OF THE IBERO-AMERICAN NETWORK OF DATA PROTECTION
The RIPD is structured according to the following bodies:
I. PRESIDENCY.
The Presidency of the RIPD will be elected by simple majority among the members attending the RIPD´s Symposium. The Presidency of the RIPD will be responsible for the following:

A) To represent the RIPD in all those national and international forums where issues related to data protection are discussed.

B) To promote and support national Legislative Chambers from the countries within the Ibero-American environment in all the ongoing legislative initiatives.

C) To promote and represent the RIPD before the different social actors operating in Latin America and whose activity insists on this fundamental right.

D) To preside the meetings of the Executive Committee.
Currently, the Presidency is held by Mexico, and it is exerted by the Federal Institute of Access to Information and Data Protection.
II. EXECUTIVE COMMITTE
The Executive Committee will be made up by the Presidency and four Members of the RIPD, and its functions will be the following

To attend the EIPDs and sector seminars to be held during the year and to decide on the issues related to the RIPD´s functioning and activities.

To approve the working program for the upcoming year and to promote all the necessary actions for the celebration of the next EIPD.

To approve the constitution of the Working Groups.

To cooperate actively and periodically with the Secretariat in the development of the functions undertaken.

To act as the publishing editor of all publications presented.
Currently, the Executive Committee is made up, together with the AEPD, by Portugal, Argentina, Mexico and Chile.
III. SECRETARIAT
The RIPD´s Secretariat will be assumed by the Spanish Data Protection Agency, who will be in charge of coordinating tasks as the technical body and of the follow up of the RIPD´s activities.
The RIPD´s Secretariat will be responsible for the following:

To maintain a continuous relationship with the RIPD´s Executive Committee.

To establish contacts with national and international organizations, and with similar and cooperating institutions with the aim of managing possible technical and logistic support for the performance of the RIPD´s activities.

To carry out, together with the Work Groups, the development of decisions and projects approved by the EIPDs.

To facilitate an open communication and exchange of information among the RIPD members, paying attention to their initiatives and proposals.

To coordinate the activities for Seminars and Working Groups.

To instruct applications from new members who wish to join the RIPD.

To call and collaborate in the organization of EIPDs.
-
To process the invitations for experts and observers to the EIPDs.
IV. IBERO-AMERICAN SYMPOSIUM (EIPD).
The Ibero-American Symposium is the General Assembly of the RIPD Member Entities, which will be held once a year and will be considered an RIPD body.
The EIPD will be a forum for direct discussion and the adoption of decisions and documents.
EIPDs will determine the seminars as well as the working program for the running year, without prejudice to possible initiatives that may arise during the said period.
The EIPD will elect the Presidency, by simple majority, among the attending members.
